Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for transfer students who meet certain GPA and transfer credit requirements. After being admitted, students should complete the online application through the SVSU Scholarships Portal to receive full consideration for both general and donor-funded awards.

Examples of donor-funded transfer scholarships include:

  • Community College Scholarship — For new undergraduate transfer students enrolling full time with at least 24 transfer credits and a minimum 3.0 GPA earned at a community college.
  • Wildfire Credit Union Scholarships — Available to full-time transfer students with at least 24 transfer credits and a minimum 2.0 GPA who are transferring from Delta College or other eligible institutions.
  • Robert and Ellen Thompson Working Families Transfer Scholarship — Provides awards of up to $3,300 to eligible transfer students.

These are just a few examples of available opportunities. Students can explore the full list of transfer scholarships through the SVSU Scholarships Portal.

After admission, students should create their SVSU account and complete the steps outlined on the Transfer Next Steps page.
